Marjorie's ramblings

Trametes versicolor

My knowledge of fungi is quite limited, so I have scoured the internet to find my best guess for the name of this one. It is also called Turkey Tail, unless another blipper knows better!

I went for a walk through the woods at Acomb before lunch. It was fine, but another greyish day. There were a few youngsters in kayaks in the river. By the time I crossed the very slippery stones to the river's edge, they were paddling into the distance.

I like working with prime lenses, but how do you choose the correct one for a walk I wonder? Today I took the 85mm portrait lens in the hope of meeting someone to photograph. The 90mm macro would have been a better choice, but the 85mm did fairly well in capturing the fungi.

This afternoon I went to Margaret (across the road) and Brian's drinks party for friends who they used to live near to when they were all at the bottom of the village. It was a lot of fun and the food and drinks were excellent.

I see there is a new Scandi drama at 9pm. I'm hooked on The Blood Pact,  one of the Walter Presents series on Channel Four, and may have to complete watching this first. It has me gripped and I don't know what the outcome will be. Barry Atsma is excellent as Hugo, the tax official who becomes caught up in some very dodgy business. Has anyone else watched it? (No spoilers please.)
