Kelvin-Helmholtz clouds
A lovely day!
After the now-traditional Christmas breakfast (porridge with honey, cream and a nip of whisky), and exchanging presents, MrM departed to play for diners lunching at a hotel. And I set off for a walk with Tom, Lucy and Jake (posing, extra) through Humbleton village and over to Wooler Common. It was glorious weather, and en route we spotted these wave-like clouds. Google informed us that they're Kelvin-Helmholtz clouds, apparently quite rare. Good views of Humbleton and, further on, of the Cheviot (extras).
We hurried back down from the Common to cook the Christmas meal, and after MrM returned from his gig we were joined by John C for a veritable feast. Then time to relax for the rest of the day.
