Tower

I was at a conference all day in London, and then went for a lovely dinner date with my boys and L. This tower loomed at the end of the street where the conference was held.
The Post Office Tower was opened in 1965 by the then Prime Minister, Harold Wilson, and it was the tallest building in London (and the UK) until 1980. I was about seven at the time and I can still remember the sensation it caused and the fascination of it's high up relvoving restaurant.
Even though it's still in use and a grade II listed building, Canary Wharf and the Shard have rather stolen it's glory, and it's now just the rather faded BT tower (although it's still a fascinating construction when you get up close).
