But, then again . . . . .

Prestonpans Mural.

Although this is part of one of the many Pans murals it is, of course, about two miles away and on the boundary wall of Cockenzie Power Station. We used to live just a few hundred yards from here.
Mrs TD and myself went on a guided tour of some of the murals about 18 months ago and were gob-smacked to discover that there were 81 "witches" who were executed in the 16th and 17th centuries; they are commemorated in some of the murals. The Salem witch trials pale into insignificance by comparison.

Today being Wednesday, it was a very cold but bright cycle ride, this time to Athelstaneford. The sky was wonderful, gorgeous colours, shades and patterns; it looked like a fabulous sunset after a bit of smartening up with PhotoShop, but the foreground was a disaster so I'll save it for the backdrop to a better picture.
The afternoon was a bit warmer and a lot duller but cheered up by coffee and scones in Musselburgh. It's amazing how the afternoons are drawing out now, it wasn't until nearly 5 o'clock that it was nearly dark.
