Fishing jetty, Male

We are now back in Male and the city tour included the fish and local produce markets. (See extras, hopefully!)

The small fish are skipjack tuna; the large one is a freshly landed yellow fin tuna. It's worth noting that Malvidians use a pole and line to catch all of their tuna; unlike commercial outfits who use indiscriminate net fishing. Yellow fin tuna are declining because they don't reach adult size before they are caught in the nets.
