PORTRAIT OF PIET HEIN
in low key. For the Mono Monday Challenge. Huge thanks to Carolina for hosting this marvellous challenge.
He was writing a letter and in a second I had taken three photos and this one did please Piet Hein too.
In the afternoon we posted the letter and walked in the cold streets of our town.
We shivered standing near the river. In our postbox we had found a Christmas card from dear friends and in this card there was a poignant message of our friend Trees, that she had had a lovely last year, but that
her prospects for the coming year were low, very low.
We stood near the river and thought of the many years we had known her and her husband, their children and grandchildren, grown up now.
We will write back tomorrow, lit a candle, be in our thoughts with her and her family.
A last day of the year tomorrow, and awaiting what the new year will bring us, still hidden of course and that is good too..
