Sanderlings
My 200 bird year comes to an end tomorrow, I'd heard that there were Sanderlings regularly at Ryde, so I thought I would take advantage of not being at work and head over there. I spotted the Sanderlings straight away, they are lovely little birds. This photo has a gull too so you can get an idea of the size.
Daisy and I had a lovely walk and I also saw a Barnacle Goose. There were also some twitcher looking for something. I chatted with them and found out that they had seen 2 Long Tailed Ducks. They tried to find them to show me, but they had disappeared out of view.
Oh well. I'm currently on 144 different species of birds, which I'm quite chuffed with considering I haven't really gone too far from home. Let's see what tomorrow brings.
