Washing from the Water Butt!

When I woke up this morning I thought the toilet flusher had broken. Then there was no water in the tap. I looked outside and noticed the neighbours drive was sinking and water was running down the road. Out I trotted in my Christmas PJs to investigate then call the water company.

I brought buckets of water from the water butt to boil and wash with and Mr W bought a large bottle of water from Sainsbury.

I went to work and was delayed leaving so got back too late to walk Fluffy Legs. She was also a bit unsettled with the constant noise from the digging and lorries outside.

Water was finally restored at about 6pm. It turned out to be our join in the road that had split!!! The road will have the proper tarmac laid tomorrow.

It's crazy how reliant we become in the simplest of things such as running water.
