Poetry please

Spent a lovely afternoon in a cosy corner of a local cafe with some of my fellow members of Clackmannanshire Women for Independence recording poetry for the next few episodes of our Sunday poetry and jazz hour on Indylive.radio .  
We will be dedicating the first episode of January 2020 to Alasdair Gray, Scottish literary giant, who died yesterday.  One of his favourite quotes, which is engraved in the wall of the Scottish Parliament building was "work as if you live in the early days of a better nation".  A perfect motto for a crucial year for Scotland.
