I have been quite critical of USA products in 2019. However, have to admit three great products we do have, connected with the cowboy/ranch life.
One the so-called "T-Posts" simple steel posts used to make fencing, said to be made of old railway tracks. The things are unbreakable. They can look rusty when alongside roads which are regularly salted in winter but it is just surface rust. One can hammer through the hardest rocky ground & the pull them out & reset them without a scratch appearing.
The second is a hated stainless steel water drinking contraption which will work regardless of how many degrees below zero so long as one can keep the water supply feed to it at sufficient frost-free depth which here is 1.5 metres. These waterers "Nelson" are used throughout the world especially in zoos subject to cold problems.
The third are the 12 or so zinc-coated panels that I have loaded on the instruction of the boss and transporting somewhere else to fence in the horses. They date back at least to the 1980s. In places, particularly the feet that have come into contact with long periods of horse muck & urine are rusty but still strong.
The T-posts and the Nelson waterer is definitely from a dealer in Bavaria just south of Munich named Texas Trading that has been selling these and many other such things. I think the panels too. We have been following the companies massive increase in sales, product range 6 now German-wide coverage since the early 90s and know several of the current and ex-employees
