Last walk of 2019!
Decided on a short walk today just to test the water as it were.
Not as nice a day as yesterday through the weather looked clearer and brighter up the Aire Gap.
We walked along the canal past the 3 rise locks and then turned off to the path that skirts the Bingley North Bog. I have seen catkins on here before but did think it might be too soon. They were there, not very many and quite tiny (suitable for Tiny Tuesday) but a good sign of the Spring rebirth to come.
Crossing the canal above the 5 rise locks we walked up through the top end of Bingley past Gawthorpe Hall. There is a network of paths here that take you up into the Prince of Wales park.
We didn’t go that far but headed back down into Bingley for a coffee before returning home; only about 2.5 miles but a good start to getting back to form.
If you’ve already arrived in 2020 then a very Happy New Year to you!
If you are in the northern hemisphere I hope you enjoy your celebrations tonight whatever they are. See you in 2020!
