The Victory

I've no idea how this pub clings on when so many others have closed. The road slopes down to the level crossing and then East Farleigh bridge, check the map for details. It doesn't have a car park and relies on the railway station car park, I stood in the entrance to the car park to grab this shot, but Network South East are now charging for parking during the day so that has to hit trade - I understand that the pub are in dispute over this. There are not many houses nearby yet, against all odds, it carries on. I understand that the beer garden has smashing views over the river but I'd not have thought that would be very popular today - another driech day.

I've got some shopping done and I'm ready to stay up as late as 22:00 (that might be a struggle) to sort of see in the New Year. Whatever you are doing I hope it goes well and I wish you a peaceful and prosperous New Year!
