Jaw Dropping

Happy New Year!  What every firework display should be!   3 million people gathered on the beach here in Copacabana.   We appreciated it all the more given the tragic news out of Cairo today that a dear colleague and friend of Dd's died in a car crash with all her family (husband and two young kids) on the Alex Desert Road last night.  There is a whole community grieving  in the Middle East tonight, between Egypt and Sudan, their last posting.  Tragic beyond words.   RIP Erica.
