The Old Cotton Factory, Workington

When I first went to Workington in 1976 this was a derelict Cotton Factory. I was once in the building when it was pitch black, looking for trespassers and only using a small torch, for some reason I stopped had I not, I would have ended up at the bottom of a dried out concrete tank about 14 foot deep; there was nothing to prevent anyone falling in. Apparently, this tank is still there, filled in and forms the floor of the supermarket, a brass plate plugging a vent is all that is left of this tank now.
