New Year's Fireworks
Happy New Year to you all , wishing you all that is good for 2020!
We watched the unorganised spectacle of Dutch fireworks after midnight, when all and sundry shoot millions of Euros worth of fireworks from their front or back yards. It sounded and at times looked like a war was going on for at least an hour, though there certainly were people letting off fireworks after 1:30 pm too. A rather weird and wasteful tradition, not to mention what it does to the domestic and wild animals and the environment in general. I wouldn't mind it if individual fireworks sale would be forbidden, but this is another of those traditions that divides the nation :-(
Anyway ... I was very happy to see one of the garden red squirrels visiting early this morning (see extra) and I am looking forward to another year on Blip sharing and caring :-)
Remember that tomorrow's Abstract Thursday is the very first of the new year and is as theme-free as possible, so be free to take or make the kind of abstract you like most :-) The tag will be AT236.
Thanks very much for your kind wishes, comments and stars for yesterday's oliebollen and appelbeignets !
