The old control tower

at Sculthorpe a former RAF / USAF airbase. They do hold exercises here from time to time which in my experience usually involve the versatile V22 Osprey, a twin prop aircraft whose propellors can be tilted to take off vertically if necessary, or in more orthodox fashion.

For most of the year cattle graze on the land. Their absence today suggests an exercise could be iminent.
