The best New Year's advice the world has to offer.

This is John Wooden's office, preserved at the UCLA sports museum.  I had the opportunity to meet him before he passed away in 2010.

He was an American basketball player and head coach at the University of California, Los Angeles. Nicknamed the "Wizard of Westwood," he won ten NCAA national championships in a 12-year period as head coach at UCLA, including a record seven in a row.  As we begin the new year, his pyramid of success is the best advice the world has to offer.

Competitive Greatness
Poise, Confidence
Condition, Skill, Team Spirit
Self Control, Alertness, Initiative, Intentness
Industriousness, Friendship, Loyalty, Cooperation, Enthusiasm

"SUCCESS IS PEACE OF MIND WHICH IS A DIRECT RESULT OF
SELF-SATISFACTION IN KNOWING YOU MADE THE EFFORT TO BECOME THE BEST YOU ARE CAPABLE OF BECOMING.” - John Wooden
