The Big Match

Today’s annual shinty match between the Kingussie league team and the All Stars (aka Old Timers) ended in a 3:1 win for the youngsters. Not that anyone playing or watching was really bothered after their Hogmanay revelries. At one point I noticed that one player in the All Stars was wearing a helmet, while only one of the other team wasn’t. Maybe their mothers were watching!

It was seriously cold standing on the sidelines, despite copious amounts of tea, mince pies and steak pies, but we warmed up afterwards by taking Charlie the dog for a long walk in the woods. That stick throwing business fair warms you up!
