Pub lunch

I needed to get out. We discussed going down to the coast for the day, but it was a dull morning, not inviting a long drive. Instead we stayed local. We had lunch in a pub that we haven’t been to for a long time. It was very comfortable, nicely decorated for the Christmas season, and the food was excellent. We will be back. Afterwards we “went for a walk in the car” (a phrase of my father-in-laws). We wandered down tiny Surrey lanes to places new to us. It is surprising to find places so remote in the south-east.
