Sir Thomas Edmondes

He was James I’s Treasurer of the Household and he is holding a white rod of office so it’s not a billiard cue. He is one of the amazing portraits in the Long Gallery in Montacute House. Over the last few years when I’ve visited the house I’ve had Murphy with me so I’ve not been able to visit the house. The gallery is an extension of the National Portrait Gallery and is well worth a visit.

Geoff stayed at home with Matthew, Phoebe, Oscar and Shelley so that we could treat my sister Angelique to lunch.

On returning home HtP and I and packed the car and headed back. After the excitement of the last few days life is rather flat again.

It was good to be greeted by the boys on my return home.
