Croft at Toft

Shetland is not at its best... Low, grey skies, gales, rain. Even the dramatic landscape of the Lang Kames looks dour and uninspiring.

The warmth of welcome from the grandchildren makes up for the foul weather.

The road north was eerily empty of cars tonight. Our accommodation: a much modernised version of the croft in the painting.
