When will it end?

After years of disruptions to Edinburgh's bus routes and trade the tram works continue seemingly without any end in sight, although summer 2014 is the planned date.
Today it was announced that 350 people have applied for the 12 tram drivers vacancies with more applications expected, equating to about 30 people chasing each vacancy. So little hope then for the 100s who have lost their jobs in the local area over the last few days.
