I have been waiting for several months to introduce the extraordinary Bridget Riley to my children. It was a treat to be at the Hayward Gallery with them today.

Afterwards, one caught a train to Margate. The other caught the X90 (on its last ever day of service after 92 years) with me to Oxford. Such is the future.
