Can a plant "Struggle manfully"?

10 days now, off and on, I've been shooting this early bird.

A definitely "nowtish" sort of a day. Near misses ... A closed Goldsmiths©, a notice now informs the masses that the nearest shops are at Newcastle and Barrow. It wasn't until CC's Blip yesterday that I had any inkling they were closing. That said we could never understand how a place the size of Penrith with 3-5 other Jewellers could ever support a national chain.
We haven't an HMV© but the local Blockbusters© is on the way out too apparently and the local car spares wallah has a "To let" notice up on account of no-one wanted to buy it.

The only other contender was a strange bird I glimpsed in Sainsbury's
Hair:-
Right hand side ... short, blonde.
Light habd side ... quite a bit longer, scarlet.
Over the top ... DEEP black.
Top:-
A kind of tied died/flowery thingy/
Bottom;_
Spray-on black legs surmounted by a pelmet. A bit "cold on the whole" I thought, punnily.
Fair do's lasses wear all sorts in the name of "fashion"/trendy. This, particular, lass I thought was shopping with her Mam: can't have been a day under 50, approaching 60 fast when she turned far enough to see. I couldn't get a clear enough hip-shot :¬((
Not a snowdrop to been seen yet though.
