Ice Crest

At the lake today I spotted this little crest of ice. I can only guess that in the cold of last night the wind pushed up a little ripple which promptly froze and formed the basis for lots more ripples to follow. Bit by bit it built up but it was still only maybe 8cm high.
As you can see, the sun was very low in the sky. This was at 3pm.
