Animal Care.

This morning all 27 sheep were treated for ticks, nasty little blood sucking parasites. The adult tick lays its eggs in grass and they hatch into larvae which find their way on to sheep, deer, cattle and other animals including dogs and cats. The larvae suck their fill of the host animal's blood then drop off leaving a very itchy bite. Poppy was not impressed being herded into the yards with the rest of the flock but she recovered and came for a head scratch later.
