Fresh Air

Had a walk down the "road to nowhere".

A road down past a small industrial estate in Newhaven has been there for some time. It leads almost as far as the East Quay by the river Ouse and then stops in the middle of nowhere. However since plans to build a concrete block making factory were approved work has started.

There were objections to the development of the factory which will operate 24hrs a day. The lorries will have to use roads into Newhaven which are already heavily used by lorries heading for the ferries, and they will feed in to an already busy roundabout on the A259 by the ferry port station etc. Worst of all the development is very close to a conservation area by the sea front.

It's going ahead. Quelle surprise.
