A bit of a departure

Have to be honest, this morning I set out to capture a stormy sliver of the sunrise, by the time I reached open ground it was all over so I carried on with a circular route ending in the local graveyard, in the older section a number of memorials have been “ made safe” by taking vulnerable parts and placing them on the ground. This a cross was propped up on the remnants of the original plinth. The lichens indicate age but the corners are still sharp with little weathering
