Venus in Corbridge

As a good Blipper, I always try to have a camera with me. Today I had a haircut in Corbridge - I'm actually pleased with it (!) - and this statue in the garden of the shop caught my eye.

Who knew that the Venus de Milo was in Corbridge?!

I had permission to photograph her through the window. I've added some processing to give a bit of nostalgia to the image.

In other news, the plumber came to assess the problem this morning. It was the usual - the boiler is too large for the system, the correct valve is not in place, the overflow tank is too small, you should have been topping up the system every time you bled a radiator. In other words, I would not have done it this way if it was my job. Sigh.

He's lovely (as were the previous two) and comes highly recommended, so I'm happy with that. He would make all the changes necessary on Wednesday, then had a cancellation and it coming tomorrow morning. What a star.

Meanwhile, the carpet continues to dry out.

I'm part way through a number of jobs so the place is in chaos. The tree is still standing with some ornaments removed. It's good that I'm not superstitious.
