Broken Home

We visited a new to us state forest today. St. Inigoes State Forest. We learned it was purchased in 2009 and is 985 acres. It has 8 miles of shore line. It is a beautiful property. We saw eagles, herons, geese, ducks and this hornets nest. Lucky for me it had been abandoned because the briars were thick and I would not have been able to get away without being stung. We have had nests like this in WV and the hornets are very aggressive when you get so close. You can see the combs inside where the bottom has fallen away.
