Short-eared Owl (Asio flammeus)

Well!! A trip to Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge and the kindness of the blip gods gave us some great birds today. I have several to chose from, but holy cow folks....we saw an owl! This little guy was right beside the road and a car was stopped and she pointed it out to us as we pulled up behind her.

The gunky sky cleared up finally and this afternoon the sun is shining in a blue sky. The fog was still around when we were at Ridgefield, but it was clearing slowly.

Back home, having lunch, Bill is napping, and I am still excited that we saw an owl! It's just not something we get to see every day...although we hear one often at night.
