Studland
We knew we were going to get wet! Surprisingly Heather and I managed to stay dry as we walked amongst the masses of foam deposited on the beach by the lively waves, all the way to the point. Although very enjoyable, it was bitterly cold and unsurprisingly there was not one overexposed body on the nudist beach. We took the ferry across to Sandbanks, had a coffee and headed back again. The tide was furious as we made the short crossing back and the rain started.
We walked through the nature reserve rather than the beach. So beautiful, despite the rain, with the lichens amongst the heathers and the wetlands with peat black waters and stunted trees.
I just couldn't resist these grasses with their colours enhanced by the rain. Even the dogs were avoiding puddles as skies poured as hard as they could. By the time we returned to the car, water had penetrated through to our skin and our trousers stuck to us as only cold, wet cloth can.
The most wonderful thing after a wet, wet walk is to soak again under hot running water. That shower was bliss!
