Boardwalk

Looked out of the window this morning and realised that the weather forecast had got it right. It was teeming with rain. Nevertheless, it was the first Ramblers walk of the New Year and I needed the exercise and fresh air.

What surprised me greatly was that 26 other people were of the same mind. Our walk was from Condorrat and around St Maurice's Pond (pictured) and Broadwood Loch, the latter home to lots of different birdlife this morning.

In the event, it wasn't as windy as forecast and the rain occasionally relented. But it was good to catch up with everyone. Have to say, though, it was good too to get home, shower and change.
