Pictish stone...

is at the gateway to Brodie Castle and I had gone to photograph it in preparation for this afternoon's lecture on the Pictish peoples of the 7,8,9th century Scotland. Walking round the garden after found snowdrops in flower but was impressed by this aspect of the castle framed by the Monkey Puzzle tree.
The castle has been the clan home of the Brodies since the twelfth century. Parts of the existing building date from the sixteenth and seventeenth century.
Warm at 12.5C! Windy but not too much.
