In Dundee where the Cooriedog walk took over the Balgay bridge. Couples had made a statement of their affection for one another through a lock and (sometimes) a chain. In other times they might have carved their initials on a tree.
I recall on one bridge, authorities had to cut off the padlocks because their weight made the bridge m less safe. Amazing the power of collective love.
