Iron ore processing plant Whyalla, SA

Whyalla started as a BHP iron ore mine in about 1900. A town and smelter quickly followed. WW2 saw the addition of ship building yards. Most of the steel for Australia’s war effort Travelled these conveyors. The plant is A classic Lowrie era artwork (without the people).
