Union Canal

A borders bike ride. It s supposed to be dry, but it turns out the rain is just departing. Some bits are dry, others are drizzly and damp.A clockwise ride, it is out to Auchendinny and Mount Lothian, past Gladhouse reservoir to the A703.

I turn off the A703 at Eddleston. I take Extra on the descent through the Meldon Hills. Then it s the A72 and B7509 to Romannobridge. Then its home via Bogsbank, West Linton, the Moor Road and Penicuik.

In the afternoon, I head down to Tollcross.The main blip is of the Union Canal at Fountain bridge, as the weather has cleared up a bit, even though the sky has not. Then a visit to a couple of bike shops with afternoon coffee (and cake) in between.

A nice evening. My partner is off next week, so it's down to a pizza restaurant for tea.
