What’s that?

The sun came out today so I had a lunchtime walk. I spotted some strange things on the grass and up close I saw it was earth cores pulled out after planting spring bulbs. I am looking forward to seeing the Spring colour but wondered why they didn’t pick up the cores as they went along?
