I have an interesting thought - or not. I listen to the radio a lot; mainly BBC stations. However, there does not seem to be an independent alternative for mainstream news and current affairs. They are rather a monopoly and depending on your view perhaps institutionally biased. There are many taboo subjects, limited sets of voices and the expertise of their journalistic and interlocutory skills seems questionable.

So, how about a decent independent alternative - say to Radio 4  or 5 and especially the Today programme. That is today's idea (excuse the pun).
