Will this be OK for carry-on baggage?

I ordered a new camera backpack yesterday to take on my forthcoming trip.   When the courier arrived with this massive box I thought I must have ordered the wrong thing.

Fortunately the backpack was rattling around inside surrounded by air packs.  

I am standing in the picture for scaling purposes.  I am 6ft tall
