The day started with another disaster: after 15 years of faithful service our washing machine died. The motor made a horrible noise and then ceased to work. Ah well, a trip to the washing machine emporium sorted that. We were well impressed by the sales person. She was extremely helpful. We had a wee chat, she's working part time to help with her studies to be a biologist.

A few days ago I noticed our local kebab shop closed. They were super friendly and made nice kebabs. I wonder what happened. On the plus side our local corner shop has expanded and is including a post office.
