Snowbird in the Snow
It started to snow about midday. It didn't amount to much but it lasted for quite a while, with most of it melting as it hit the ground. I stuck my lens out the porch door very briefly and got a shot of this little dark-eyed Junco enjoying it.
A week ago, on New Year's Eve, I mentioned that we were waiting for the new dryer that we had purchased on the 17th to be delivered. The delivery time was between 12:30 and 4:30. At 4:00 we received a call that they weren't going to be able to make it with no reason provided and they wanted to reschedule us for the 10th! I was furious and went to the store the day after New Years, asked for the manager and after a long rant, I cancelled the order. I then went directly to the store where we usually buy our appliances and bought another dryer which was delivered today. My old dryer still worked, after a fashion, but I didn't realize how deficient it was until I had a load of towels dry in less than an hour in the new dryer.
The mystery of the roses has never been solved. I am afraid I will never know who sent them, but they are still quite beautiful and we are all enjoying them.
