China Girl

Wonderful day with my students, they look at the world in a very unique way, they point their cameras at everything and come up with different ways of seeing.
Went for a walk on the beach in Bray in the early evening after a hot day, the tide was out, there was a light breeze and the world looked big and blue. I noticed this girl trying to wade through the wet sand in yellow high heels, I gently suggested to her that it might be easier if she took off the shoes, she did, and then skipped away in her bare feet, leaving her shoes placed neatly on the sand, she started to dance in the shallow water, completely carefree, she was mesmerising to watch.
I started to take photographs of her, she did'nt seem to mind, she just did her own thing, we did'nt speak much, she did say in her broken English how much she loved the sea and that her home in China was far away from the sea. I took quite alot of pictures, and then we said goodbye, it was quite an unforgetable experience.
