Toots in Solitude

Bo'ness

After looking closely at the weather forecast I decided that today would be okay to go on a trip to Bo'ness on their little community bus the C19 and very interesting it was too.
I've never been to Blackness either and was able to see the Castle from the bus. This Castle has been used as a location in many films. Three people had boarded the bus in Edinburgh and alighted in Blackness to walk along the coast there to South Queensferry. I may do that one sunny day.
It was near Kinneil, Bo'ness, that the coal mining tunnel ran from and directly under the Firth of Forth and was built to meet the Valleyfield coal plant over in Fife.

I'm not sure if there still lies an aura of cinders around the town but when I still had a little bit of time in hand before my return bus was due I went to a local bakery for a bite and cuppa.
I did take a photo of what I was given on my plate and it's kind of a shame that I don't get the privilege of extra photos because I may have shown it.
Or maybe I wouldn't be so mean.
A fried egg lay hidden beneath the most blackest crust of a roll that I've ever seen in my life. It was like looking at a piece of coal! Totally inedible!
And the worst bit was there seemed to be no shame in placing it before me.
