Mexican Jay
I have no earthly idea how I got this shot in focus. I had an appointment with the retina specialist and I think they put a gazillion different drops into my eyes. Rhetorical question: if the repaired retinal tear was in only one eye, why did they have to douse the other one, too? Usually, I'm pretty good within a half hour after my regular eye dilation. This time, it was hours on end. It didn't help that the sun was brilliant today, either. I managed to take care of a messed up car registration renewal at the MVD (DMV when I lived in New York and MVA in Maryland) then foolishly decided to drive up to the Canyon. There was virtually no bird action. I got three shots of this jay then slowly coasted down the mountain. Thank goodness it's not a winding road.
When I got home, I had to close every blind. Since then I've been doing laundry and handing out MM hearts and HMs. I'm pretty wiped out right now and have a horribly busy day tomorrow so it will be late when I post the list. Most of the world won't see it until Friday.
All I did to this photo was crop it because I couldn't see what the heck I was doing.
EDIT: I took another crack at it now that I can see. I think it's markedly better. Hope you think so, too.
Oh, and it was the very first time in 9 months I was able to lift and hold my good camera (with a little leaning on stuff). Whoo hoo!
