Exploring my new backyard

With our brief respite from the rain, I've been venturing into my new backyard more and more each day. It's certainly a much more manageable size (as opposed to the 5 acres we used to have), is full of beautiful, elegant ferns and shrubbery, and appears to be in good condition. We are surrounded by a variety of tall and majestic evergreens which provide some shelter from the wind, but I can see that all the shade is causing my backyard to be overrun with what appears to be lichen and moss. From all the "anti-moss" products I've seen in the garden stores, I'm assuming that moss is not a desirable feature in one's lawn, though, if it were up to me, I'd say it really doesn't look that bad at all. Being the opposite of a "green thumb" I will have to do further research on this before determining my course of action. As it is, if my lawn is all moss and lichen, I won't need to buy a lawnmower (left my ride-on at the old house, sold the Ford NAA)!
