Ha Long Bay, Vietnam

Drove to the resort from Hanoi this morning. This afternoon had a Junk ride on the Bay with best lunch to date and all locally caught sea food. Great for me and less so for others. This is the Bay of 3000 islands and is full of tourism boats and fishermen. And also a floating fish and oyster farm village as seen on the Mekong a few days ago. That is floating houses with net cages under where fish are reared to saleable size. This village had a floating school and clinic which services all the floating homes in the bay ,unless of course my interpretation was incorrect! This is a colour picture but the weather is grey! Back to Hanoi tomorrow and then back to the UK and home ( CB). It has been a fascinating insight for us on this part of the world assisted by local guides who have lived recent history in this region.
