Landborg
Too rainy for detailed pictures today, I took a brief trip along "Landborgen", the 'Landborg', meaning high cliff or ridge, probably shaped millions of years ago by a river running north south where the sound separating Öland from the mainland today. The edge runs more or less along the west coast of the island. In the southern part, where I live, the borg is more of a sandstone/limestone ridge running a bit inland from the coastline making the low plane nearest the coast a very attractive and fertile farmland. Not far from the windmill we find Ölands highest point, 56 m. From the highest point in the west, the land slopes all the way to the east side of Öland.
