Lost In A Book

Rhydwilym

This is a cross stitch pattern I created, from a photograph I took, of the chapel where my 5 x great grandfather, Gabriel Rees was a minister at the end of the 18th century.

Rhydwilym is reported to be the oldest active Baptist chapel in the world - they used to have a website but it seems to have disappeared, but this website gives you a bit of the history.

I started this a few years ago, but 22 count aida cross stitch isn't particularly M.E. friendly. Now that my health is improving it was noticeably less stressful today.

I love making these small, detailed images (the above cross stitch of the Rhydwilym window will measure 15 x 15cm), but, oh my life, they take so long to do - I can work for about an hour and I find that I've barely completed a 1cm square.

But then, why make life easy for yourself?!
