We don't do snow in the UK
Off to London for the weekend. All the excitement of Rupert Everett in "The Judas Kiss", a meal tomorrow at Skylon (one of the restaurants that the Masterchef candidates had to work in - looks good and there's a special offer) and a recital at the Royal Festival Hall.
But this is the day it's decided to snow.
I delivered Sparkie to her hotel and it wasn't too bad. But as I drove home it started to get much, much worse. I couldn't get the car back on the drive so I decided to head for the station even though I was stupidly early.
The roads were awful and getting more and more swamped with snow. Tamworth was horrendous as I passed it on the A5.
Slightly better after the M42 but still dreadful.
This is Birmingham International. Deserted and deepening with snow.
My friend has left work early.
Wish us luck
Edit: Update:
Thank you Virgin trains. Took an earlier one and the Glaswegian hostess was very generous with the red wine :-)
